Guest Lecture was conducted by the GIAST, on 12.4.2023 from 9.30 am to 10.30 am. Resource Person Mr. Satish Kapoor, Social Activist, has taken a lecture on the topic “Inclusion a Reality” for second year students of B. Ed in the Auditorium.
He has written a number of books and one of them is referred to include inclusive education in more than 100 schools all over India i.e. QUALITY INDICATORS FOR INCLUSIVE EDUCATION.
He has delivered lectures in various organizations and Universities. He also has started his own organization "Brotherhood", it is an organization that has been actively fighting for the rights of disabled communities since 2002. Also "The We Care Film Festival" is an effort by the Indian organization Brotherhood, in partnership with UNESCO, to raise awareness and to dispel stereotypes about people with disabilities.
The lecture mainly focused on how the new generation teachers can shift the education system from diversity and inclusion to including diversity, equity and inclusion in an Institute. Total of around 90 students and staff participated in this program. The speaker explained how collaboration and cooperation are the main tools for Inclusive Education. Everyone interacted and put their own thoughts & ideas to the discussion and it was fruitful to all.
After his lecture it was told how he has made children learn and understand as well Inclusion in a school or an organization through short movies, shown in his Fest in Goa.
Students felt that the session was more informative and interactive. And everyone got a kick to step up and include all and educate all.
