"Say NO to Plastic", an activity was organised in Gitarattan Institute of Advanced Studies and Training on 03.04.2023, Monday. The objective of the activity was to create awareness about the hazard of plastic in our environment along with this to spread awareness about the alternatives of plastic products as - "There must be a better way to make the things we want, that doesn’t spoil the sky, or the rain or the land.” - Paul McCartney
Students participated in this awareness activity with zeal. In the activity, 2 or 4 students as a group initiated and came forward to put light on the theme - "Say No to Plastic" through short stories, poems or quotes. This activity took place in respective classes.
The activity was fruitful in various ways as it not only made us aware about alternative of plastic but also how it is degrading our Mother Earth mover over, how it can be prevented.
This is undeniably a huge problem but what is requisite is to minimize its production which only be possible when we as citizens will switch to other alternatives.
Some of the alternatives that were discussed during the activity were-
Hence the benefits of reducing plastic usage will help in prevention of pollution; save energy, reduce greenhouse gas emission which all will take us from environmental degradation to environmental rejuvenation.
