MOSAIC by definition is an intricate pattern produced by arranging small pieces together. GIAST festival MOSAIC lined up with the definition and the true essence of the word, as it brought to light the talent, determination and grit of each student and provided them a platform to achieve excellence and unparalleled success. Gitarattan Institute of Advanced Studies and Training, Delhi organized it’s annual inter-college festival MOSAIC on 28th April, 2023 at GIAST campus.
The event commenced with cordially inviting the guest of honour, Ms. Sonia Jindal, Principal, Gitarattan Institute of Advanced Studies and Training. Further, the guest of honour and the faculty were invited to light the ceremonial lamp as a tribute to mother Saraswati. The occasion was graced with a classical dance performance on Ganesh Vandana.
Students from Bachelor of Education programme, 2nd year enlightened the stage with their exuberant hip-hop dance. Further, the ancient art of belly dance was showcased on stage by Prerna, Bachelor of Education programme ,1st year. The host further enumerated the cultural events which would take place. The events were as follows- ‘Mind Map’, ‘Stage Mania’, ‘Nukad Nanak’, Canvas Painting and Poster Making - ‘Vibgyor’, the most exciting event ‘Flosky’ which consisted of Solo Dance performances, Fashion Show and Stand-up comedy, ‘Creative Palette’-Cooking without Flame, Vase Decoration and Bottle Painting.
The faculty and the students dispersed to the rooms allotted for the cultural event in which they participated. The debate session referred to as ‘Mind Map’ was on the topic ‘We can reverse climate change’, all the participants were engrossed in the session as they all counteracted their opponents with strong and valid viewpoints. The ‘Nukad Natak’ was appreciated as the students gathered to witness the enthralling performances.
Students showcased their creativity as they displayed the seven colours of the rainbow onto their canvas in the two events namely- canvas painting and poster making. The creative faculty and experiential learning of the students was enriched as the students decorated the vase and the bottles with their imagination. The exotic flavours of the world were to be brought through the ‘Creative Palette’- Cooking without flame.
Crowns are not made of rhinestones, they are made of discipline, determination, consistency and a rare trait called courage. Witnessing the solo dance performances, beauty pageant and stand up comedy at ‘Flosky’, the students,faculty and participants were captivated. The event witnessed a plethora of talent, beauty, and comic-relief.
The most awaited moment had come wherein the winners were to be announced. The participants, the faculty and students were overwhelmed and appreciated as they jammed to the songs and made the occasion fun and frolic. The feedback received from attendees was overwhelmingly positive, with many expressing their appreciation for the effort put into organizing the event.
The inter-college annual festival MOSAIC held by Gitarattan Institute of Advanced Studies and Training was a resounding success. The event provided a platform for enriching the holistic development of students and brought the college community together.
