EXTENSION WORKSHOP: DIGITAL TOOL ASSESSMENT

Introduction:
The digital tool assessment workshop for the B.Ed program students was conducted on 23/05/2023. The objective of the workshop was to equip the students with the necessary skills to evaluate and assess digital tools for educational purposes. The workshop aimed to enhance their understanding of various digital tools and their potential impact on teaching and learning.

Workshop Details:
Introduction to Digital Tools:

The workshop began with a brief introduction to digital tools commonly used in educational settings. The facilitator highlighted the importance of incorporating technology into teaching practices and the potential benefits it offers to students.


Importance of Digital Tool Assessment:
In this session, the facilitator discussed the significance of assessing digital tools before implementing them in the classroom. The participants were introduced to the concept of critical evaluation and the need to consider factors such as learning objectives, student engagement, accessibility, and data privacy when selecting digital tools.


Criteria for Evaluating Digital Tools:
The workshop then focused on outlining the criteria for evaluating digital tools. The facilitator presented a set of key factors that should be considered during the assessment process, including:

The participants actively engaged in discussions, sharing their insights and experiences related to using various digital tools.

Practical Application: Assessing Digital Tools:
In this segment, the participants were given a card similar to QRcode , this activity involved the use of digital ai assessment tool Plickers.com. In this activity the instructor presented a question on the smartboard and students were to answer just by showing their card. The other examples included Kahoot, Mentimeter, Classkick, Chatgpt, Classpoint Ai, Quil bot, Slides Ai, Power point Speaker coach, Formative Ai, Futurepedia.io , Deep Ai.

Conclusion and Q&A:
The workshop concluded with a brief recap of the key takeaways from the session. The facilitator emphasized the importance of continuous assessment and adaptation when  integrating digital tools into educational practices. The participants had an opportunity to ask questions and seek clarification on any aspects of the workshop. Overall, the workshop was successful in achieving its objectives and equipping the participants with the necessary knowledge and skills to assess digital tools effectively.
