If India was a palette, it would be the most diverse, with cultures and ethnicities changing every few hundred kilometers. The evidence of this diversity is etched in the festivals that people of this country observe throughout the year. Starting from the month of January, the country drips diversity till the month of December.
After the common celebrations associated with the New Year, the first set of the festival comes two weeks after the first day of the year. Lohri, Pongal, Makar Sankranti, and Bihu are festivals that represent different cultures but unite under one country – India. All the festivals are loosely related to one single premise – crops, but vary depending on the part of the country it is celebrated in.
On January 14, 2022, the Gitarattan Institute of Advanced Studies and Training, held a Google meet to celebrate Lohri, Makar Sankranti, Bihu, and Pongal. The ceremony began with a beautiful poem by Samrita followed by a speech about the Diverse festivals of India by Akshita and Bhumika. A Wish game was hosted by Parakh and Asra to celebrate the spirit of the day. The audience's enthusiasm was heightened by Nisha's magnificent dancing performance.
The event ended with the blessing of the teachers. The encouraging words of wisdom were offered to students by the Dearest Director Mam. A vote of thanks was given by Tanya and Sveni in the end.
