The institute has an adequate number of spacious and well-ventilated lecture halls with comfortable seating arrangements equipped with traditional & modern teaching aids like black boards, LCD and Overhead projectors for conducting classroom teaching, seminars, discussions, meetings etc. As we prepare professionals with pedagogical skills and we are supposed to be the best female institution in the field, we have a highly interactive teaching-learning process. We discourage the one way lecture method of teaching. Our teaching-learning process is based on discussions, brainstorming-sessions, projects, seminars etc. We believe that the Smart Classrooms are our tools for effective and efficient teaching. Our goal is to standardize all multimedia equipment in every lecture hall, facilitating faculty to have the same technical control and capabilities, no matter where they are teaching on campus.

It has rightly been said that the institute-library is the reflection of its academic standard. Keeping this in mind, the management of GIAST has established a very rich library The Institute has a spacious, well ventilated and well equipped library in the campus. The library is very rich with a collection of the latest reference books, journals, periodicals, newspapers, magazines and e-journals. It has nearly 2500+ Titles with 12500+ Books in various areas of teacher education and related fields. The library also has more than 200 educational CD’s and about 200 sets of Encyclopaedias with access to computers with high speed internet connectivity having DELNET. The institute library offers learning material for both student-teachers and educators. A well designated reading area with a stimulating ambience encourages students to pursue knowledge and widen their horizon. An independent section for computer consoles allows access to online reserve of e-learning support material for indepth research.
A substantial number of books and journals are added regularly to the college library. The library committee examines the new books and other sources of learning brought to its notice and immediately proceeds to add the same to the existing wealth of the library. The college has a specious Multi-Purpose Hall with comfortable seating arrangement equipped with PA system having capacity of more than 300. The hall is used as a venue for the organization of various College functions. It is well ventilated and caters to the needs of the College from time to time as it is designed for lectures, workshops and talks, music, dance performances, festival celebrations and seminars etc.
The conference hall in GIAST is a place where the faculty and the student-teachers get together and discuss various issues and opine on the functioning of various policies as well as directives taken in collaboration with everyone. The auditorium serves as a space for encouraging creativity and fostering communication. All important events such as seminars, conferences, inter-college competitions are held here. GIAST has an auditorium equipped with modern ICT resources to enable the audience to hear and watch presentations and performances. The auditorium is fully air-conditioned and designed to accommodate a large audience at one time. Laboratory plays a critical role in providing opportunities to observe and infer, and not merely mug up concepts. To provide the educators and student-teachers with an opportunity to learn through hands- on experience, Institute has established a highly equipped psychology lab which provides interactive resources which include a rich collection of tests, inventories and checklists. The use of Psychology Lab goes to enrich the teacher-trainees and helps them in arriving at an objective and standardized description of behavior quantified by numerical scores, thereby making the teaching-learning process more realistic, educative and effective.
The institute has a computer lab with 25 desktops working with WINDOWS 10 original software. Each computer has been provided with an internet facility. The lab is being developed into a resource centre for optimal use of own and outsourced resources. It is equipped with Printers, Scanners, Photocopier and various Original Softwares.
The ICT lab has been designed to suit the requirements of the student-teachers and is equipped with advanced computer multimedia aids with latest software and tools.
The Curriculum Laboratory serves as a centre for instructional materials in teacher-education. It is designed for the students and teachers in the professional core courses in Education and the required activities related to the teaching-learning processes. The institute has one curriculum lab in the building which is timely updated as per requirements. The diverse material found here, supports instruction in professional development and teacher education of undergraduate and graduate students of education. These are in both print and non-print format. The Education Faculty uses the Laboratory which also houses the facility for teaching and demonstrations on electronic pedagogy to student-teachers. Both basic and supplementary educational material to support curriculum planning is incorporated in the Lab. These are equipped with reference works such as children's and General Encyclopaedias, general indexes and dictionaries; sample textbooks, used in schools. These also include the children’s literature collections; fiction and non-fiction for all grades:- Pre Primary to 12 as well as ethnic diverse literature and award winning titles. The interest of art and life brings about vivid and unexpected expressions. The Art Room is designed to be the platform - the space that engenders and enables free expression. This Room is a collaborative space for students to explore, discover and enjoy multiple facets of creativity. The student-teachers, not only use it as part of their regular period, they visit it during their free time and prepare teaching aids to be used during their school experiences. Many student teachers just use the colours and brushes to fill the urge of making their creative and imaginative pieces of art.
The institute has a spacious, fully equipped and up-to-date Science and Mathematics Lab. It provides the teacher-trainees with first-hand experience of laboratory experimentation, demonstration and practical skill development to handle with dexterity, the use of various tools, equipment and apparatus. The Science Lab caters to experimental needs in the areas of physical and life sciences. Adequate sets of all the required mathematical and geometrical instruments are available in the lab.
The main purpose of laboratory work is to provide students the opportunities where they apply their theoretical knowledge attained in the classrooms. It helps them to gain knowledge by laying hands on experience.

To provide emergency care for any illness or injury and to ensure that all students get appropriate referrals to health care providers, to monitor for and control the spread of communicable diseases, to provide education and counseling in a variety of health and wellness topics, to serve as a medical resource in the development of policies and procedures in the institute. This institute has one medical room in the premises. It is clean, hygienic, extremely appropriate for first –aid and other facilities. A trained nurse is present all the time for any emergency.
